The bit is good, but it would have been even better if the roller were a little larger. Size 12.5 is probably correct, but compared with other bits of the same size, it is slightly smaller. I would have preferred it to be 2–3 mm longer.– Linda
Description
Size: 135 mm (5¼")
Extra rings below the main ring create leverage. The lower the rein is attached, the stronger the action. Helps the horse lift its forehand and collect itself. Popular in show jumping.
A single joint in the middle that distributes pressure across the lips, bars and the sides of the tongue. A classic basic bit with a clear signal. Rises in the middle under pressure and can reach the palate. If the horse has a low palate, a double-jointed or straight bit may be a better fit.
Gives a sweet taste that encourages chewing and salivation. The surface turns blue-black over time, which is completely normal. Wipe dry after use and store in a dry place.
