Full cheek snaffle bits
A full cheek snaffle has extended arms above and below the mouthpiece. They help keep the bit centred and provide a larger surface for lateral guidance.
Compare mouthpieces, materials, sizes and cheek length. The bit should be fitted so that the cheeks remain clear of the bridle and other equipment, and keepers should only be used when intended for the model.

A full cheek snaffle has extended arms above and below the mouthpiece. They help keep the bit centred and provide a larger surface for lateral guidance.
Action and steering
During a leading rein aid, the opposite cheek may support the corner of the mouth and clarify direction. This does not automatically make the bit stronger or milder.

Mini Fullcheek remains the model name for the compact design. The effect depends on the length, shape and position of the cheeks.
Keepers and safety
Use keepers only when intended for the model. Fit them symmetrically and ensure the cheeks cannot catch on other equipment.
