The bit is good, but it would have been even better if the roller were a little larger. Size 12.5 is probably correct, but compared with other bits of the same size, it is slightly smaller. I would have preferred it to be 2–3 mm longer.– Linda
Description
Size: 115 mm (4½")
Fixed upper arm that attaches to the cheekpiece ring. Also known as a hanging cheek snaffle. The bit hangs stably with slight upward pressure. No leverage despite the arm. Quiet, steady contact for horses that want calm in the mouth.
Hinge point in the middle distributing pressure on lips, bars and tongue sides. Classic basic bit with a clear signal. Rises in the middle under pressure and can reach the palate. For a low palate, double jointed or straight may work better.
Produces a sweet taste that encourages chewing and salivation. The surface turns blue-black over time, that's normal. Wipe after use, store dry.
