The bit is good but would have been even better if the rod was a little bigger. Size 12.5 is probably right but compared to other bits of the same size it is a bit smaller. I would have liked it to be 2-3mm longer.– Linda
Description
The loose rings move freely through the mouthpiece and encourage the horse to chew and salivate. The mobile side piece makes it harder for the horse to lean on the bit. If the bit is too wide, the rings can pinch the corners of the mouth.
The single-jointed mouthpiece gives a clear signal and distributes pressure across the lips, bars and the sides of the tongue. When the reins are taken up, the mouthpiece angles upwards and can affect the palate. For horses with a low palate, a double-jointed or straight bit may be a better fit.
The rubber is soft and flexible, cushions pressure and gives a warm feel in the mouth. The material takes up more space than a thinner mouthpiece and is therefore best suited to horses with enough room in the mouth.
