The bit is good but would have been even better if the rod was a little bigger. Size 12.5 is probably right but compared to other bits of the same size it is a bit smaller. I would have liked it to be 2-3mm longer.– Linda
Description
Combines snaffle and curb in one bit. Upper rein as snaffle, lower with leverage through the shanks. Can be ridden with a pelham strap for one pair of reins. More frame and control. Needs a steady hand. Common in eventing.
No hinge points. Even pressure straight across the tongue. No nutcracker effect, doesn't reach the palate. Can feel strong as the entire mouthpiece acts at once. Suits horses that need stable pressure and don't mind tongue pressure.
Metal core wrapped in leather. Soft, warm, cushions pressure. Rinse after each use, oil as needed.
