Full cheek
A full cheek bit is designed with extended side arms that help the bit sit quietly and securely in the horse’s mouth. The gentle pressure of the side arms against the cheeks provides subtle lateral guidance, supporting steering and manoeuvrability.
The degree of action depends on the design, thickness and material of the mouthpiece. Depending on the configuration, a full cheek bit can offer a softer, more forgiving feel or a more precise and defined response.
